30 painting in 30 days.. January 2015!

So I signed up on New Years Eve  to do the 30 paintings in 30 days painting challenge.   It is a big commitment and while I love it.. wipes me out to keep up.    Here we are on the 3rd of the month and I'm posting my 1st painting but I didn't start till late on the 1st ..  Ok.. I won't give a bunch of excuses but I'm going to get as many of the 30 paintings done that I can and also plan to get farther in my Polish Pottery Still Life Series!     One of my paintings in the series will be included in a Polish pottery annual magazine and I really want to get farther in the series as it's been since August that I painted one last.  Yikes.

Ok.. enough rambling!  I have lots of painting to do!  My plan is get farther.. hopefully in the 90's of this series, experiment with abstracts as they are something that I love and want to experiment with those

Painting #29 in 30/30 Fox painting

Painting #29 in the January 30 paintings in 30 day challenge!   1 painting to go!!

I painted this from a photo I took in 2010 of a fox that had been hanging around our property. She was around so much that I called her Betty. She'd run the fence with my dog but later I discovered why she was hanging out on the other side of the fence. She had her babies in the culvert under our driveway and was watching them from the other side of the fence because we were outside she wanted to keep an eye on us. I'd walk out and snap photos of her. She was panting in this picture and actually looks like she's laughing. Later that day we discovered her babies in the culvert (see Fox Den painting of one of the babies in the culvert) I took photos of the babies too. This is my second painting of Betty. :)

Painting #19 in the 30 in 30 painting challenge. Colorado landscape

I rarely ever paint landscapes and my husband really liked this one and says I should paint them more often.  I should.   I painted this from a photo I took in January of the snow topped Pikes Peak mountain in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Painting #18 was painted from a photo of one of my friends cows at her ranch in Oregon.  Faith Hope Love Ranch.  Thank you Deb!!   Wow. I thought when I started this challenge that no way could I do a painting a day and keep at it.  It is tiring but so very rewarding!

Painting #15 of the January 30 paintings in 30 day challenge. Custom dog portrait

Painting #15 (Half way there!!!!!) of the 30 paintings in 30 days January art challenge.   Meet Belle Marie. I got the greatest up close nose reference shot of her laying on a pillow.    My 2nd 'nose style' dog portrait..    Her eyes were fun to paint as she has blue flecks in her eyes.  I have a blue merle collie that also has the merling in the eyes, I can remember looking at his eyes when he was a puppy trying to figure out if it was a reflection I was seeing or what.. but it was the merle in him that gave him those specks.    I got a really fun reference photo for this and this was a fun painting to do!

Painting #8 in 30 in 30 challenge. Strawberries

Painting #8 (22 to go! whew) in the 30 in 30  January art challenge, is a miniature painting of cut strawberry slices on polish pottery with the pin point dot pattern.  I love all  polka dot patterns from big dots to small dots, so pretty and fun!   While you can't see the pottery piece I liked how the strawberries looked with the dotted pattern in the background. The strawberries are sitting on my Ceramika Artycyzna cutting board.   This was a fun little painting and would look adorable in a little 4x4 frame.
